FAQ

We answer some of the common questions we get from our customers.

Where are you located?

Our factory and administration building is located at Unit 6-7/45 Truganina Rd, Malaga Perth 6090.

How can I get a quote for new bench tops?

If you already know what stone you would like it is as simple as asking your cabinetmaker/designer or yourself to print off a plan including.
sink type (under mount or top), any extras (sink drainers), seen edges, and thickness of stone required or if you are doing a renovation, please draw a sketch of your top plan with sink type, seen edges and thickness of stone, then either fax, email or bring it down to our office.
We can normally get the quotation back to you within a few days if not sooner, please phone our office if you need help with drawing up your plan.

If I choose a under mounted sink will this cost more?

Yes, the under mount hole is cut out on our CNC machine, the inner edge needs to be polished and this needs to be done in the factory by hand, extra charges apply. Please phone our office if you need an approx cost of having a under mount, opposed to a drop in sink which is cut on site. You need to have your sink onsite on the day of installation, if an extra trip is required because you do not have your sink or hotplate on site a call out fee is applied to your final invoice.

Do I have to buy the whole slab?

Yes, unfortunately you need to buy a whole slab. The wholesalers only sell whole slabs to us; usually an average size kitchen is 2 or more slabs. If it is only a vanity or small top you may want to select an off cut from our stock to use instead of purchasing a whole slab.

What is the order process?

Once you are satisfied with your final quotation and wish to proceed to the order stage, we require a signed copy of the quotation along with a 50% progress payment.
The progress payment is to cover your stone which we then order; it takes up to a week for the stone to arrive once the order is placed.

Do I need to seal my stone?

Engineered stone does not require sealing, Some granites & Marble do , these are normally the lighter color stones need to be sealed or if the granite you have chosen is a more porous stone than others, our team will be able to advise on this. If your stone does require sealing, we recommend outsourcing a private contractor to do this who specializes sealing.

Can I choose my stone from your suppliers?

Yes, Our suppliers are here in Perth. You can go to their warehouses where they have literally hundreds of Stones from around the world this is a much better seeing all the beautiful natural stone and you can hand choose your slabs which will be sent on to us. Please note we would need to see a kitchen or bathroom plan so that we know you will have enough stone for the project as every slab is different and comes in batches, to ensure your slabs match you need to get them from the same batch.

Can I use marble for my kitchen bench tops?

Yes some marbles can be used for kitchen bench tops however they do need a little more care. If you have fallen for a marble and would like to use this for your kitchen please phone our office and we can advise if it will be suitable, marble is more commonly used in bathrooms, but a care factor needs to be considered, e.g. no harsh chemicals can be used to clean. Sealing will be required every 12 months or sooner depending on the usage, this is as easy as spraying the sealer on and wiping it off (Please see conditions of sale/disclosure)

Can my sink cut out be used?

Yes your sink cut out can be returned to the factory and the edges polished, a cost does apply.
You will need to let us know before we start your kitchen if you request this so that it can be kept.

Will a knife scratch my granite?

Using your bench tops as a cutting board is not recommended. Apart from making your knives blunt, continuous friction may take the shine off or leave a deep set scratch mark. If you do wish to cut on granite, have your sink cut out made into a chopping board (at a small extra cost) to use.

Can I put hot things onto my stone?

We do NOT recommend to put hot things directly from your oven or stove onto your granite or engineered stones as this can cause a thermal reaction and may crack your granite or discolor and scorch your engineered stone.

Do you use most stone products on the market?

We work with granite, marble, engineered stones, sintered stone and Porcelain, If you have any questions on what we do or use please feel free to contact our office.
